Hi Niels,
Could you make a class to teach soloing formulas ? For example, over a m(7)chord which scale, pentatonic, arpeggio etc are relevant ?
Do you think it's good to break formulas into chords type (M7,m7 etc.)?
Hi Niels,
Thanks a lot for these informations. I would like to have a (quick) reference sheet in which I can memorize the soloing approach (scales, modes, arpeggiosetc.) for each chord types (m7,M7,7...).
It's very similar to the Scott Henderson soloing approach but my purpose is to use a soloing vocabulary different from jazz rock/fusion and more suitable for neoclassic/symphonic metal/shred etc..
Let me know what do you suggest.
Hey Olivier
If you isolate the chord, and only solo over one minor7 chord, there are a huge amount of scales you can use, for example you hve the three minor modes of the major scale, which are, the second, third and sixth mode, by the name of Dorian, Phrygian and Aeolian, then there is also the minor pentatonic. And of course minor triad arpeggio and m7 arpeggio.
Im not sure what you mean by "break formulas into chord type" ?

Hey Olivier
I will write the theoretical connections down to you some time today
